Cube Metadata

The cube metadata function produces a document screen that summarizes the structure of the cube. This can be very useful for users trying to understand what dimensions, hierarchies, levels and measures are contained in a given multi-dimensional cube structure.

Apart from the structure, the metadata document will also reflect these data points:

• Cube process status and date; with entity counts (hierarchy and measures)
• A description will be shown for each entity (cube, dimension, hierarchy, level or measure) . Descriptions are optionally built into the cube definition by cube designers and developers.
• Standard measure groupings
• Calculated measure MDX definitions and formulations

The document can be exported to a "Rich Text Format" file, which can be opened in MS Word.
